The Retail Rewards Programs Every Hiker Needs To Join

The Retail Rewards Programs Every Hiker Needs To Join

Get rewarded for buying gear!  I’ve put together a list of my favorite retailer rewards programs for hikers and backpackers.

All of the information in this post was accurate at the time of posting but retailers may change their programs at any time so make sure to read their policies before purchasing.

Smartwool

If you routinely hike in Smartwool socks, this rewards program is a must-join.  Smartwool offers a buy five pairs, get the sixth free deal to all members. In addition, members also receive free shipping on all orders with no minimum purchase.

REI

REI is one of the country’s largest outdoor retailers and also has one of the most well-known membership programs.  Members of the “co-op” receive a yearly dividend, access, to garage sales, exclusive coupons, and more. The REI membership is so iconic I even wrote a whole post about it.  Click here to check it out.

6 Reasons To Become An REI CO-op Member

Columbia

Columbia Sportswear Company has been making outdoor clothing since 1938.  I love that their hiking clothing comes on tons of sizes.  Joining their Greater Rewards program gets you free shipping on every order as well as a $5 reward for every $100 spent.  You can even earn rewards points for posting on social media.

Moosejaw

Moosejaw gives an impressive 10% back in Moosejaw dollars on all full priced purchases.  (Sale items earn 2.5%.) Moosejaw dollars can be used towards future purchases as a form of payment at checkout.  In addition, the High Altitude Rewards Program offers tiered perks such as free shipping and returns, early access to promotions, and free gifts to customers who meet annual spending minimums.

Eastern Mountain Sports

EMS stores are scattered throughout the Northeast, so if you like shopping in store as opposed to online you should probably belong to their loyalty program.  EMS members earn a point for every dollar spent and receive a $10 reward coupon when they reach 200 points. They also receive a 15% off coupon upon initial sign-up.

Mountain Hardwear

The main feature of Mountain Hardwear’s Elevated Rewards program is “free shipping always” with no minimum purchase.  This, in my opinion, is well worth sharing your email address. They also advertise members-only sales and offers and welcome and birthday gifts.
