What’s In My Car Camping Kitchen Box?
Today I am sharing what is in my car camping kitchen box. This box stays packed all the time with basic kitchen items and is a lifesaver on spontaneous weekend trips. When I return home, I do any necessary cleaning or replenishing before returning the box to storage. It saves a huge amount of planning and packing time and helps keep me from forgetting essential items.

You’ll notice that there aren’t any pots and pans in my box. I’ve also omitted most large utensils (knives, tongs, etc.) I make a cookware list when I plan meals for the trip and pack bigger, bulkier items separately. I tend to pack lightly and certainly don’t want to end up lugging around my cast iron skillet if we are eating foil packet campfire meals all weekend.

Two plastic dish pans – I found some at the dollar store that are actually small enough to fit in my kitchen box
Clothes pins

Plastic cutlery – I found a set a couple years ago at a local discount store that came in a perfect little plastic tube
Long reach matches – great for lighting the camp stove and lantern
Sponge
Dish soap
Lighter
Bowls
Trash bags
Paper towels
Gallon freezer bags
Small zip top bags
Salt and pepper shakers
Lysol wipes – I grab the trial/travel size packages whenever I can find them
Plastic cups
Small square of steel wool
